Building Stone Atlas of Bedfordshire
This Atlas forms part of the Strategic Stone Study, a nationwide survey that has been commissioned by English Heritage. The survey describes all the different types of building stone in England and provides examples of buildings, both grand and vernacular, where they have been used. Whilst the survey is ongoing in other parts of England it is complete in Bedfordshire and the Atlas is reproduced here with the kind permission of English Heritage. The weblink on Page 1 of the Atlas directs you to the database that underpins the narrative.
